Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋
Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!
We are in search of a talented digital Product Designer II to become a valuable member of our Shared Services team based in Montreal, QC or Toronto, ON. The Shared Services team focuses on crafting workflows that seamlessly integrate with our many Lightspeed products across Retail, Hospitality and Golf.Â
Your primary focus will involve collaborating to create exceptional user experiences through a combination of user research, design, and prototyping. The goal is to craft workflows that seamlessly integrate with our many Lightspeed products, helping our merchants sign up, sell products and services, manage their money, and get paid.Â
The ideal candidate is a dependable performer who demonstrates a comfort level in navigating a dynamic environment with intricate, interconnected challenges. Your capacity to resolve ambiguous issues and think about problems end-to-end is a key asset.Â
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate and contribute to project work from a design perspective, participating in design reviews and working sessions to help your team deliver the best possible solutions.Â
- Leverage your growing UX knowledge and understanding of design systems, UI design, and micro-interactions to help users complete tasks.Â
- Transform nebulous concepts into specific ideas that are useful and that enhance end-to-end digital product experiences.Â
- Design systems, flows, and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and user-friendly.Â
- Apply the current design system to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to its continuous improvement.Â
- Draw insights from research and data, and turn those insights into tangible solutions.Â
- Build relationships and advocate for the user when collaborating with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and marketing. Support the UX process from conception to launch.Â
- Be a positive contributor within the design team and an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organization.
And a little bit of…Â
- Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organizational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role!
What you need to bring:
- A design-thinking education or equivalent (Design, Visual Arts, Architecture, Industrial Design, or Communication);
- At least 2 years of practical, in-house product, UX/UI design experience.
- Experience with service design practices and a practice of evolving your design process.
- Experience working across various digital platforms, from responsive web to native applications
- Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills to help elevate the visual identity of our brands.
- Effective communication and visualization skills. You can engage internal stakeholders in your design process and explain your work clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in use of design systems, prototyping, and user research methodologies.
- An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals.
- A strong curiosity and the ability to think about product strategy and vision. You consider not only "how it looks" or "what to design," but also "why we are designing this."
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Proficiency working with agile teams and software such as JIRA.
We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role... hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!
